i should've known that when i brought binx back to school that he was going to die.
it could be worse i guess. at least they're not injecting them with feline aids or anything. |

i don't think this is true. i think it is completely possible to avoid changing as the world changes around you.
this usually also involves living under a rock, or in a cave, or in one of those claustrophobic bomb shelters that crazy people with too much time on their hands built back during the sixties. i wouldn't mind living in a bomb shelter. then of course you're always risking the chance that the earth's internalized gases are going to fuse up underneath you and swallow the room whole, or that the door will get locked from the outside and you'll never be able to leave again, or that the air filter will back up and you'll wind up suffocating to death, or you'll pack the thing full of canned goods and forget a can opener and starve to death after the hinges on the escape hatch rust shut.
i still think it would be relaxing, though. |
